  • Founder & CEO

Scott Jacobson is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fuse Advancement. Prior to Fuse Advancement, Scott worked at the University of Southern California over a span of 15 years. While there, he quickly gained a reputation for his ability to innovate — he skillfully connected, inspired, and rallied his colleagues and individuals within the USC Alumni Community to great heights. His work culminated in numerous awards and accomplishments:

2016 Volunteer Friend of the Year Award — a USC Alumni Association award given to the top USC staff member working with Alumni, Parents and Friends of the university.

Established and led “Athenian Society for the Price School of Public Policy” - a premier giving fund for the School and Trojan Athletic Fund, which raises approximately $21 million dollars a year to support the 650 student athletes.

Co-led the $315 Million Renovation and Fundraising Plan of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Visioned the 1923 Club at the LA Memorial Coliseum - The first of its kind: stadium membership only, social rooftop club, with expansive 360 views of Los Angeles. The now sold-out club, with a wait-list and annual revenue of over $650,000, would have otherwise been left as a regular seating area.

Through his deep experience in fundraising and development — spanning higher education, collegiate sports, airports, nonprofits and businesses — Scott aids organizations by creating new lines of revenue streams. His propensity for development enables him to make meaningful, lasting, and impactful connections across many fields leading to original fundraising solutions and innovative gains that increase the bottom line across all sectors.

  • Government and Community Relations

Rich Gordon brings a lifetime of community and public service to his work with Fuse.  For twenty years he worked in the nonprofit, community benefit sector founding an agency, Youth and Family Assistance, which provided a range of health care, mental health, and residential services to at-risk adolescents and their families.  His innovative work in this sector included opening a restaurant which served as a job training site for homeless youth.

In the community, Gordon served as Board Chair for the Redwood City/San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, President of a local Kiwanis Club, and advisor to the Junior League of Palo Alto/Mid-Peninsula.  His efforts in the community led to his successful election to public office as a member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors where he served for thirteen years.  There he led initiatives to create an outcome-based budgeting system for local government, protect agricultural and coastal lands, and assure that all children had access to basic health care.

Rich capped his public and elected service by representing the Silicon Valley as a member of the California State Assembly.  There he chaired the powerful Rules Committee and had seventy percent of his legislation signed into law.
